Isabel Sousa, a Chemistry graduate (2005) and MSc in Science Food and Technology (2007) from Faculdade de Ciências da Universidade do Porto (FCUP) was awarded, in 2013, a PhD degree in Chemistry (FCUP), where she synthesized drug-metal complexes and implemented a new method for their encapsulation in liposomes as drug delivery systems.

Currently, Isabel is a researcher at SECOP group and she has been the lead researcher for the development of micro/nanocapsules loaded with active species for different coating applications in several projects participating both in experimental and managements tasks.

In her spare time she likes to go to ballet class, listen to music, watch netflix and chill.
