Márcia Silva graduated in Chemical Engineering (2008) at the Polytechnic Institute of Oporto (ISEP), and MSc in Chemical Engineering – Technologies for Environmental Protection (2010) at the same university. Since 2015 is a postgraduate in Integrated Management Systems at Fernando Pessoa University (UFP) and Société Générale de Surveillance (SGS). She obtained a PhD in Chemical and Biological Engineering (2021) from the Faculty of Engineering of the University of Porto (FEUP) with the thesis entitled Water Harvesting by Adsorption based processes on MOFs.

Márcia Silva is a postdoctoral researcher at the SECOP Group, and her research focuses on wastewater remediation and valorization by ion exchange and/or adsorption-based process using environmentally friendly nanomaterials.

Márcia Silva enjoys watching series and movies, visiting historical places and playing with her cats.
